Designed to Provide Superior Corrosion and Wear Resistance

Pump plungers from Double Barrel are designed to provide superior corrosion and wear resistance for various applications. At Double Barrel, we can provide plungers made from various materials, including carbon steel, 303 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, 400 stainless steel, and 17-4 stainless steel. We also offer a variety of coatings for our plungers, including Nickel Chrome, Tungsten Carbide, Premium Tungsten Carbide, Cobalt, Extreme Service (ES) HVOF-applied, and Rokide ceramic coating. Aluminum Oxide Ceramic coating is also available. We can also create custom coatings based on your specific requirements.

Our plungers are made in our Canadian facility. Many of our plunger coatings are applied using the spray and fuse process. This process creates a dense coating, metallurgically bonded to the substrate.

Nickel Chrome (HC) Plunger

If you’re looking for a plunger with the best combination of corrosion and wear resistance, then a Nickel Chrome (HC) plunger is a great option. These plungers can be used in high-temperature applications, up to 500°F, and are our most economical choice.

Tungsten Carbide (TC) Plungers

Tungsten Carbide (TC) Plungers

If you’re looking for a top-quality plunger that can withstand high temperatures and abrasion then tungsten carbide plungers are the way to go. These plungers offer superior wear resistance and durability, making them ideal for various applications. So if you need a plunger that can handle most everything, tungsten carbide is the material you need.

Extreme Service (HVOF)

When extreme pumping circumstances arise, our ES (Extreme Service) multiplex Pump Plungers provide exceptional wear resistance when pumping highly abrasive and/or corrosive materials. These coatings are created using a thermal spray process called HVOF (high velocity oxygen fuel). This process uses high pressure oxygen and fuel gas to apply a variety of metal, ceramic, and composite coatings to a substrate. This results in a more complex, wear-resistant surface ideal for highly abrasive applications. In addition, multiplex Pump Plungers can be custom designed to meet the specific needs of your application. Contact us today to learn more about our HVOF coating services.

Chrome Oxide (Rokide)

Chrome Oxide (Rokide)

Chrome oxide ceramic pump plungers are an excellent choice due to their superior chemical- and wear-resistance properties. Chrome Oxide pump plungers offer outstanding wear resistance, excellent performance and long-lasting durability. This coating is designed for amine and glycol applications where no plunger lubrication is available.
